DUBHE, from the arabic Zahr
ad-Dubb al-Akbar, 'the back of the greater bear'. It might
be well to note here that there was no "bear" constellation in the astronomy
of the Sumerians and Babylonians: they called Ursa Major MAR-GID-DA,
'the constellation of the long chariot'."
